Painting is exciting, you never quite know how things are going to turn out! You have to respond to the paint, my mark making is intuitive, until the very last stage of the painting when decisions have to be carefully and thoughtfully made. I aim for my paintings to be simple, the beauty of the subject conveyed through carefully chosen colours, shapes, lines, and hopefully I will have created an image the viewer can enjoy and relate to.
